PayBuddy Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 October 2026
This policy covers PayBuddy, a desktop app published by Oakmind. It explains which data PayBuddy accesses, where that data goes, and how you stay in control of it. For the Oakmind website and our other apps, see the Oakmind Privacy Policy.
Who is responsible
Oakmind publishes PayBuddy. For any privacy question or request, contact privacy@oakmind.co.uk.
PayBuddy uses YouTube API Services
PayBuddy uses the YouTube API Services to show you information about your own channels. By connecting a channel you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google’s handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
What PayBuddy accesses
When you choose to connect a channel, you sign in with Google and grant two read-only permissions:
- View your YouTube account
(
youtube.readonly) — the channel’s name, logo, and the list of its videos with titles, descriptions, thumbnails, publish dates and public counts such as views and likes. - View YouTube Analytics reports
(
yt-analytics.readonly) — the channel’s analytics, such as views, watch time, audience retention and traffic sources.
PayBuddy cannot upload, change or delete anything on your channel, and it does not access your Gmail, contacts, Drive or any other Google service.
Where your data is stored
Everything stays on your own computer:
- The sign-in token Google issues is saved in a file in your user profile, readable only by your user account.
- Channel and analytics data is saved in a local database on your computer.
Oakmind runs no server for PayBuddy. We never receive your Google sign-in, your tokens or your channel data, and we cannot see them.
How it is used
Your YouTube data is used only to show you your own channels inside the app: charts, lists of videos, retention curves and comparisons between your videos. It is not used for advertising, it is not sold, and it is not shared with anyone by Oakmind.
PayBuddy’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Tools you choose to connect
PayBuddy lets you plug in other tools — for example AI chat, voice or image services — using your own accounts and API keys. Those keys are stored on your computer. When you run one of those tools, it receives only what you send it, under that provider’s own privacy policy. PayBuddy does not send your YouTube data to any of them unless you ask it to in that step.
Keeping and deleting your data
Data stays on your computer until you remove it. You can:
- Delete the PayBuddy data folders on your computer to remove all stored tokens and channel data.
- Revoke PayBuddy’s access at any time from your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions (also reachable via Google security settings). After that, PayBuddy can no longer read your channel.
Cookies and tracking
PayBuddy contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and does not set cookies.
Children
PayBuddy is a tool for channel owners and is not directed at children under 13.
Your rights (UK GDPR)
Because your PayBuddy data never reaches Oakmind, you hold and control all of it. If you have a question or a request, email privacy@oakmind.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
Short version: PayBuddy reads your own channel’s data, read-only, and keeps it on your computer. Oakmind never sees it. You can revoke access in your Google account at any time.
